Domestic wastewater treated with Sagittaria latifolia in constructed wetlands

چکیده
Constructed wetlands are viable alternatives for the removal of multiple pollutants. The performance Sagittaria latifolia in free flowing and subsurface removing pollutants from domestic waters was evaluated. 12 will be followed, three with species without species, retention times 6.7 days 3.5 subsurface. presented an effluent turbidity 4.4±0.8 NTU, color 143.9±27.4 UC 33.9±25.7 mgL-1 COD. samples 10.1±2.8 346.3±87.0 74.7±30.0 wetland best eliminating turbidity, color, COD 95.9, 89.4, 95.7% respectively, obtaining a kinetic coefficient 0.34 (free flow) 0.89 days-1 (subsurface).

Treatment of industrial wastewater with two-stage constructed wetlands planted with Typha latifolia and Phragmites australis.
Industrial wastewater treatment comprises several processes to fulfill the discharge permits or to enable the reuse of wastewater. For tannery wastewater, constructed wetlands (CWs) may be an interesting treatment option. Two-stage series of horizontal subsurface flow CWs with Phragmites australis (UP series) and Typha latifolia (UT series) provided high removal of organics from tannery wastewa...
متن کاملLocalized domestic wastewater treatment: part I - constructed wetlands (an overview)
Constructed wetlands (CW) are an alternative localized treatment technology suitable for reducing BOD, COD, NPK and pathogens to acceptable levels for subsequent use of treated water, especially for irrigation. Dissolved chemicals and heavy metals are also reduced to an extent. CWs are extensively used in developed countries for secondary and tertiary treatment of domestic sewage and treatment ...
متن کاملPollutant removal by Canna Generalis in tropical constructed wetlands for domestic wastewater treatment
Constructed wetlands have not been commonly used in Vietnam due to the lack of information in the selection of proper types of constructed wetlands, type of reeds, design parameters and performance efficiency, in tropical climates. This paper focuses on Canna generalis, which is a common reed and easy to grow both in water and wet land conditions. Two kinds of hybrid constructed wetlan...
متن کاملRemoval Mechanisms in Constructed Wastewater Wetlands
The use of constructed wetlands is a relatively new technology but the system is gaining popularity due to its low tech system for treating wastewater (DeBusk, 1999b).Constructed wetlands have found to be effective in treating domestic wastewater where municipalities are concerned with reducing suspended solids, organic matter, phosphorus, nitrogen, and pathogens. Constructed wetlands mimic nat...
